Heiner F. Klemme

Heiner F. Klemme is Full Professor for the History of Philosophy at the University of Halle-Wittenberg (MLU). He held full professorships at the Universities of Wuppertal and Mainz, was visiting Professor at São Paulo (USP) and Marília (UNIMAR), and Honoray Professor at the School of Philosophy at Wuhan University. He is a member of the Scientifc Council of Academia Kantiana (University of Kaliningrad), Präsident of the « Christian-Wolff-Gesellschaft for the Philosophy of the Enlightenment », and head of a recently established international Graduate School on obligatio at MLU. His meain research areas include the Philosophy of the Enlightenment, Immanuel Kant, and practical philosophy. He is author of „Kants Philosophie des Subjekts“ (1996), „Immanuel Kant“ (2004), „David Hume zur Einführung“ (2006), „Kants ‚Grundlegung zur Metaphysik der Sitten’. Ein systematischer Kommentar“ (2017), co-author of „Immanuel Kant für Einsteiger » and « Thomas Hobbes für Einsteiger », and is presently writing a book on « Kant’s Applied Ethics ». He is (besides others) co-editor of « Kant-Studien », « Kantstudien-Ergänzungshefte », »The Bloomsbury Dictionary of Eighteenth Century German Philosophers » (2016), “Moralische Motivation. Kant und die Alternativen“ (2006), and editor of « Kant und die Zukunft der europäischen Aufklärung » (2009).
