Macarena Marey

Dr Macarena Marey (17/12/1978) is Adjunct Researcher at CONICET-UBA. She teaches Political Philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Literature, University of Buenos Aires, both in the undergraduate and the postgraduate schools. She wrote her Ph D dissertation on Kant’s concept of Right as treated in Die Metaphysik der Sitten (2010). She is a member of the Grupos de Estudios Kantianos (Buenos Aires). She has published numerous pieces on Kant’s ethics and political philosophy in Spanish and English (among others: Kant-Studien, Studi Kantiani, Studia Kantiana, Isegoría, Diánoia, Historia Philosophica, Critical Horizons). She has translated Zum ewigen Frieden to Spanish and is currently working on the first Spanish rendition of the lessons on natural right known as Naturrecht Feyerabend. Besides her interest in Kant’s political philosophy, she specializes in Modern Political Philosophy, social contract theory, Ethics, contemporary theories of democracy, and feminist approaches to political philosophy. She has previously been a CONICET doctoral and post-doctoral fellow, spent a research stay at the Goethe Universität Frankfurt am Main and given talks as keynote speaker in several academic events.
