Alessandro Pinzani

Alessandro Pinzani has studied philosophy in Florence (M.A.) and Tübingen (PhD and Habilitation). Since 2004 he is professor for ethics and political philosophy at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianópolis (Brazil) and since 2006 he is a fellow researcher of CNPq (Brazilian Research Council). He has been an assistant (with teaching duties) at the University of Tübingen (1997-2001) as well as a visiting professor at the Catholic University of Porto Alegre, Brazil (2001) and at the universities of Dresden (2013) and Bochum (2016). He was a visiting scholar at Columbia University, NY (2001/02), at the Humboldt University, Berlin (2010) and at the University of Florence (2015/16). His main areas of interest are: Critical Theory, theories of justice; theories of poverty; neoliberalism; modern political philosophy; Kant’s political thinking.Among his books: Diskurs und Menschenrechte.
